
The Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown is asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect that shot a Breckinridge County Sheriff Deputy Saturday (01/11) evening.
The preliminary investigation indicates that two Breckinridge County Sheriff deputies responded to a call of a domestic incident around 6 p.m. at a residence near the 2100 block of KY 2779. As deputies arrived at the residence, the subject fired, striking two cruisers. One of the Breckinridge County Sheriff deputies was struck and received non-life-threatening injuries.
The subject, identified as 53 year-old Julio Morales Ceballos, a.k.a. Julio Morales of Hardinsburg, then fled the residence into an adjacent wooded area.
The Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of Kentucky State Police, continues the search for the suspect. There is a current warrant for him for attempted murder of a peace officer, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and assault 4th-degree domestic violence with minor injury.
He is described as 5′ 8″, 186 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing dark clothing. He is described as armed and dangerous.
