The Fayette County Coroner’s Office has identified a child who died from their injuries following a Pulaski County house fire.
The Coroner’s Office says 12 year-old Natalie Stacy died at the University of Kentucky Medical Center around 8 p.m. Friday, from smoke inhalation.
According to the Somerset Fire Department, the fire happened on January 14th, when crews were called to the 400 block of Newton Street in Ferguson for a report of a house fire.
When they got there, crews found a woman and child standing on the roof of the home and got them down through a ladder rescue.
They say they rescued a child from an upstairs bedroom who was airlifted to UK Hospital.
That child has now been identified as Stacy.
The woman and child rescued from the roof are expected to be OK.
Firefighters said they believe the fire was electrical, and there were multiple space heaters throughout the home.
