Drivers who travel through Old Louisville should get ready for detours as the Louisville Water Company works on rehabilitate an old water main.
The intersection of Oak and Brook Streets will close for about five to six weeks beginning Monday.
This is so Louisville Water Company crews can continue work rehabilitating a 130-year-old water main as part of their Oak Street Project.
Louisville Water said the project will improve the overall reliability of the water supply for the city and ensure high-quality drinking water for the next century.
Detours signs will be in place to help drivers navigate the closure.
The Oak Street Project began in July 2024 and Phase 1 of the project is expected to cost $8.5 million.
