A woman in Shepherdsville died after a house fire broke out over the weekend.
The fire was reported by neighbors who saw smoke coming from the home on Tara Circle on Sunday, January 19 around 9 a.m.
While battling the fire, Shepherdsville Fire Chief Jody Craig said firefighters found a woman inside and pulled her from the house. She was taken to UofL Hospital-South but died from their injuries. The Bullitt County coroner’s officer identified the woman as Cheryl L. Peterson.
The cause of the fire was ruled accidental due to “an alternate method of heating.” Craig said there was no electric service to the home.
