The man that was being investigated for a bizarre death in Old Louisville in 2023 has agreed to a plea deal.
Jeremiah Bowman was charged with abuse of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence. In January 2023, Louisville Metro Police officers did a welfare check on an address on South Second Street in Old Louisville where they found body parts of 79-year-old David Sloan.
Witnesses said Bowman put Sloan’s body parts in the trash and even asked them for help getting rid of them. Bowman was Sloan’s former partner and the two lived together.
When questioned, Bowman told investigators he hadn’t seen Sloan in several weeks and was unaware the body parts were on the property.
In court Wednesday, January 22, Bowman agreed to an Alford Plea, which means there is no admission of guilt, but an admission of enough evidence to possibly convict the suspect if the case went to trial.
It calls for five years for each charge, which will be served at the same time.
