
An Owensboro man was sentenced for attempting to entice a minor online and attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor.
According to court documents, 30-year-old Corey James Jarboe was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervised release.
He used the internet to communicate with an undercover law enforcement officer who he believed to be a 14-year-old female, per the release.
During those conversations, he knowingly attempted to entice the minor to engage in criminal sexual activity by making plans to meet in person for sexual contact.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations Bowling Green and the Kentucky State Police.
There is no parole in the federal system.
