Louisville police have charged a woman with attempted murder in connection to a death investigation that began in the 4400 block of La Salle Avenue.
Angela L. Hensley, 48, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
The death investigation began on Sunday around 10:20 p.m., when a woman was found unresponsive at the Praxis rehab facility. Police said the woman had a cut to her forehead. She was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital, where she later died.
An arrest citation said surveillance footage showed Hensley going into the woman’s room and then leaving four minutes later. The citation said the victim was standing when Hensley came in and was on the floor after she left.
Hensley allegedly went back into the room multiple times, never notifying staff of the woman’s condition. The victim was found by staff just before 10:20 p.m.
According to the arrest citation, Hensley admitted she tried to kill the woman with a towel saying, “She said she wanted to die.” An autopsy revealed that the victim was strangled.
Hensley was lodged in the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
