
Kentucky State Police Post 4 in Elizabethtown responded to an alleged animal cruelty complaint in Nelson County, resulting in the property owner being charged.
Kentucky State Police Post 4 received a call around 11 a.m. on Monday (02/17) from an individual stating that an organized chicken-fighting event was active at 1950 Pottershop Road in Bardstown. Troopers and detectives immediately responded to the property and made contact with the owner along with other individuals. As a result of the investigation, the property owner, 37 year-old Aaron John Thompson, of Bardstown, was charged with Cruelty to Animals- 2nd Degree and cited to Nelson County District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing by the Kentucky State Police. Kentucky State Police remains active across the state, cracking down on chicken-fighting, including investigations in Bethelridge, Blackberry, and Dunnville, Kentucky.
