
A man pleaded guilty in the burglary and fire at a Bowling Green Wendy’s that happened in February 2024.
According to court records, Michael Sheehan pleaded guilty on February 14 to multiple charges including arson, burglary, criminal mischief, tampering with physical evidence and intimidating a participant in the legal process.
On February 21, 2024, a fire broke out at the Wendy’s restaurant on U.S. 31 W Bypass. Court records state Sheehan broke into the store, stole $2,000 from a safe, and returned an hour later to remove the DVR box with surveillance footage and set fire to the store.
The fire caused over $1,000,000 in damages.
Sheehan was arrested weeks later by Bowling Green Police.
He faces 20 years for the crime, according to court records. His sentencing is scheduled for April 29.
