
The Louisville Metro Police Department is investigating after a triple shooting happened Friday outside a regional driver’s licensing office in Valley Station.
According to police, the shooting happened around noon in the 6200 block of Willismore Drive near Dixie Highway.
When police arrived, one man was found dead. Two women were found on the scene with critical injuries, however they died after arriving at a local hospital. A Kentucky Transportation Cabinet official said all employees were safe.
The shooter, and the people shot, were all outside the building.
Witnesses told police the suspect, or suspects, fled the scene in a vehicle, however Louisville Metro Police Department says there is no threat to public safety. Police did not have a description of the vehicle and said investigators were still reviewing surveillance video.
Maj. Donald Boeckman said the investigation remains ongoing and is still in its very early stages.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said they remained focused on their customers’ and employees’ safety. Security was at the office when the incident occurred outside the building, and they locked down the building immediately. Employees left and the office will be closed the remainder of the day.
