A man was shot and killed around 1 a.m. Sunday after allegedly kicking the door in and entering the wrong apartment.
The apartment complex is at 1317 Scottsville Road in Bowling Green. While Bowling Green Police responded to the burglary call, the resident told dispatch someone was actively kicking the door to their apartment.
According to Bowling Green Police Department, once the intruder entered the apartment, they were then shot and killed by the resident.
The individual, 23-year-old Matthew Maggart, also lived at the apartment complex.
During the investigation, police found evidence leading them to believe that Maggart was impaired and mistakenly entered the wrong apartment.
