
Louisville Metro police said 10 students and a driver were taken to the University of Louisville Hospital after a crash involving a Jefferson County Public Schools bus.
The crash happened around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, at the intersection of Baxter Avenue, East Chestnut Street and East Jefferson Street.
Police said a passenger vehicle turning left failed to yield to Jefferson County Public Schools Bus #1881, which had the right-of-way. A total of 23 students were on board en route to Waggener High School.
Ten students were taken to Norton Children’s Hospital. The Jefferson County Public Schools driver was not injured.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was taken to University Hospital and will survive his injuries.
LMPD’s First Division will be handling the investigation which is still under investigation.
