A construction project is set to create a long-term road closure in Edmonson County.
The KY 238 bridge over Big Reedy Creek at mile point 3.4 will be closed for rehabilitation, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 said in a Thursday release. The bridge is expected to close on March 7 for approximately 60 days.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the project includes new bridge beams and a new bridge deck. The new rehabilitated bridge will use the same footprint as the existing bridge.
When the rehabilitation is complete, the 18-ton weight limit restriction will be lifted.
A detour using the other KY 238 intersection with KY 185 will be in place.
The project contract was awarded in October 2024 to Cambry Contracting Inc for $645,000.
