Two Louisville men have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery at an Oldham County Dollar Tree.
Lamychael Hobbs and Anthony Kimbley are now facing armed robbery charges in connection to the incident that happened Wednesday, February 26, although police say it was Hobbs that actually committed the robbery itself. Police say Kimbley was just a passenger in the getaway vehicle.
Arrest documents say Hobbs entered the Dollar Tree on 1st Avenue in La Grange, pushed the cashier against the wall and held the employee at gunpoint before taking off with about $273 in cash from the register.
Police say they caught up with Hobbs just as he was getting back onto I-71 headed toward Louisville, but after a short chase, Hobbs got out of the car and ran, allegedly ditching the gun underneath a nearby home.
Hobbs was arrested along with his passenger Kimbley.
This isn’t Hobbs’ first run-in with the law. He is also facing numerous charges in Jefferson County, including strangulation and domestic violence charges.
Hobbs and Kimbley are currently being held at the Oldham County Detention Center.
