An investigation by the Attorney General’s Office of Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control led to five people being indicted in the Jefferson Circuit Court.
The investigation began when the office received a complaint about possible fraud.
On February 27, a grand jury indicted Vendetta Anderson, Keshia Payton, Tiffany Trumbo, Charese Williams, and Charles Williams on one count of Devising or Engaging in a Scheme to Defraud the Kentucky Medical Assistance Program (KMAP) valued at $1000 or more (Class D Felony).
Payton, Trumbo, and Williams were also indicted on a second count of the same charge.
The defendants’ next court appearance is April 23.
