
With assistance from Bowling Green Police K-9 and the Kentucky State Police Interdiction Team, the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force has arrested a fugitive after a collision.
On March 3 at 3:50 p.m., 26-year-old Treshawn Martez Hutchins of Bowling Green was seen entering a white Cadillac Escalade and driving from his apartment toward Enterprise Court.
A detective with state police attempted to block his exit with a vehicle equipped with flashing blue lights. According to the release, Martez swerved at the detective and drove around him and a second detective.
After driving through landscaping, he drove a short distance west on Enterprise Court. He failed to stop at the Russellville Road intersection and struck a passenger car and a pickup truck.
The car Martez was driving then became disabled. Martez then fled on foot, abandoning his sister, 29-year-old Alexus Gatewood and her five-year-old child inside.
He ran from the vehicle until he was confronted by two Drug Task Force detectives and held a gunpoint. He was taken into custody without further resistance.
Hutchins, the passenger, and her five-year-old daughter were treated and released at the Medical Center at Bowling Green for minor injuries following the collision.
Detectives were able to obtain a search warrant for his residence. Law enforcement found a trafficking amount of powder fentanyl, ammunition and a handgun, all of which were seized from the residence. Another handgun was seized from the Cadillac at the collision scene along with $830 in cash seized from the accused person. Drug Task Force Detectives will be presenting additional charges to the Warren County Grand Jury in the future.
He was lodged in the Warren County Jail and pending arraignment in Warren County District and Warren Circuit Courts.
Hutchins was charged with: Bail Jumping First Degree; Failure to Appear for Final Sentencing in Warren Circuit Court; Wanton Endangerment, First Degree, Police Officer; Wanton Endangerment, First Degree, 4 Counts; Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree, (Motor Vehicle) and Disregarding a Stop Sign.
He is being held in the Warren County Detention Center under a $6,000 cash bond.
