A Hopkins County man has been fired from his job and booked into jail after incident at workplace.
Madisonville Police say they spoke with a woman who told them she worked in a factory with 23-year-old Barrett Korinta, of White Plains.
She told them on Wednesday (03/05), they were in the “rack wash room” which sprays 200 degree steam and chemicals on trays.
The victim says Korinta closed and latched the door, purposely leaving her inside.
She says he then turned the machine on, causing the steam and chemicals to spray the room.
The woman says she was able to turn it off with an emergency switch before going unconscious and falling to the floor.
She was taken to the hospital with injuries to her face and head.
Police say she was also treated the next day for a concussion.
Korinta is charged with wanton endangerment and unlawful imprisonment.
He is being held in the Hopkins County Jail under a $1,000 cash bail bond and is scheduled to appear in court on March 14.
