A traffic offense led to the seizure of drugs and weapons in Allen County, according to police.
At around 1 a.m. Wednesday, Scottsville police initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 GMC operated by 36 year-old Brandon Cox, of Scottsville, for a traffic related offense, according to a news release.
Officers say the stop yielded 429.5 grams of marijuana, cocaine and narcotic pills, as well as paraphernalia consistent with trafficking in controlled substances. A handgun and cash currency were also seized.
Cox was arrested and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center on the following charges:
Trafficking in marijuana, second enhancement
First-degree trafficking in a controlled substance (cocaine), enhancement
First-degree possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone), enhancement
Second-degree possession of a controlled substance (amphetamine)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of an open alcoholic container’
No registration plates
No registration receipt
Rim of frame obscuring lettering on decal
He is being held under a $30,000 cash bond.
The Scottsville Police Department was assisted in the investigation by the Allen County Sheriff’s Office.
