A man who was being held in custody at Metro Corrections died in the hospital Friday, according to the Mayor’s Office press release.
Officers found a 54-year-old man, housed on the medical unit, unresponsive at around 3:30 p.m. He was taken to a downtown hospital by EMS. Louisville Metro Department of Corrections was notified that he died at 5:20 p.m.
The man had been in custody at Louisville Metro Department of Corrections since March 19, 2022. It is believed he died of natural causes.
