One person is dead after an accident involving a motorcycle and a sedan Friday evening.
Louisville Police responded to a report of a crash at 6:43 p.m. on I-64 eastbound near Mellwood Avenue, near the seven-mile marker.
When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist had been thrown from their bike and was declared dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner identified the motorcyclist as 33-year-old Aaron Cortez May.
The Louisville Metro Police Department traffic unit’s initial investigation determined that Cortez May was weaving between other vehicles at a high rate of speed and a witness said the motorcycle clipped another vehicle heading in the same direction and lost control.
