Louisville Metro Police responded to Waterfront Park Friday night after multiple gunshots were fired near the base of Big Four Bridge.
LMPD spokesperson Sgt. Matt Sanders said officers arrived around 7:30 p.m. and heard gunshots as hundreds of teenagers and adults were crowded in the area.
Sanders said two groups of teenagers and young adults exchanged gunfire in the area and the large crowd fled. Police aren’t aware of anyone that was actually shot.
Officers quickly closed a portion of River Road and secured the scene. Three teenagers were arrested between the ages of 13 and 16, and officers also seized a gun from the scene.
