
A Kentucky jail employee is facing charges after an inappropriate behavior complaint was filed.
On Friday, April 4, the Kentucky State Police Post 12 in Frankfort was requested to investigate a complaint at the Shelby County Detention Center involving a female inmate and a jail employee that happened on April 1.
Through the course of the investigation, Kentucky State Police detectives discovered the jail employee, 31-year-old Ladonis Mayfield of Taylorsville, while on duty, engaged in inappropriate sexual advances toward a female inmate.
On April 7, he was arrested and lodged in the Oldham County Jail where he was charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy. He is being held under a $25,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 9
The investigation is ongoing by the Kentucky State Police.
