The death of a 6-year-old girl in a car accident has led to the arrest of a woman in Hopkins County.
On September 16, 2024, the Madisonville Police Department said they were requested to assist a deadly crash on Nebo Road near Manitou, Kentucky.
Officers say the crash resulted in the death of a child and left one driver and passenger with severe injuries.
Madisonville Police Department said they worked the investigation over the past several months with help from Kentucky State Police.
On Tuesday, the case was presented to a Hopkins Grand Jury, which returned a Warrant of Indictment for 34 year-old Jessica Settle of Manitou.
She faces charges of Vehicular Homicide When Under the Influence of Drugs, two counts of Assault 2nd Degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Drugs 2nd Offense, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Drug Paraphernalia, and Persistent Felony Offender 2st Degree.
She was arrested and booked into the Hopkins County Jail under a $500,000 cash bond.
