Authorities in Oldham County are investigating after a woman was found stabbed to death at the Oldham County Health Department.
According to Oldham County Police, officers responded to the Health Department on Commerce Parkway around 7:45 PM Tuesday, April 8. When they arrived, they found 33 year-old Katherine Andrea Homez Gomez dead at the scene from “multiple laceration wounds.”
Oldham County Police say 32 year-old Oscar David Torres Alvarez, the victim’s former boyfriend, was identified as a suspect in the case. Detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest and worked with Indiana State Police to locate Alvarez. He was taken into custody around 2 AM Wednesday, April 9, near Merrillville, Indiana. He was arrested pending extradition back to Kentucky.
Alvarez is charged with Murder – Domestic Violence and Burglary 1st Degree. He is being held on a $2 million cash bond.
