Several branches of the United States Postal Service (USPS) in Louisville are being audited following lengthy mail delays.
The Office of Inspector General has opened investigations into delivery operations at the Middletown, Iroquois, and Pleasure Ridge Park USPS branches. It is also investigating the efficiency of operations at the Louisville Processing and Distribution Center.
Records on the Inspector General’s website show the audits began as early as March 19, 2025.
Congressman Morgan McGarvey, a democrat from Louisville, said the issue stretches beyond January’s severe weather.
He said his office was getting calls before the storms, and far after the weather cleared.
McGarvey said his office sent letters to USPS, and they have received thousands of calls since the holidays.
Auditors were at each facility last week to collect data, and USPS said they expect their reports to become public in June.
McGarvey toured some USPS facilities back in February. He described the conditions inside those facilities as poor.
