A Scottsville man was arrested after police say he was under the influence and took his father’s tractor without permission Thursday night.
The father called dispatch saying his son, 40-year-old Anthony Minix, had been drinking for several days.
Allen County Deputies were dispatched to the residence around 8 p.m. and located Minix driving the tractor without any lights on Old Hartsville Road.
According to police, Minix was given multiple verbal commands to step off the tractor but refused. They then physically removed him from the tractor.
Upon investigation, Minix was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. There were also open alcoholic beverage containers on the tractor in a bag beside Minix’s leg.
Minix was arrested and is currently lodged in the Allen County Detention Center under a $5,000 cash bond.
His charges include:
Reckless driving
Failure to illuminate headlamps
Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle
Violation of Kentucky EPO/DVO
Operating on a suspended or revoked license
Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
