On Saturday, April 12, Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a report of a person being shot in the 7200 block of National Turnpike at around 9:45 p.m.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found a man who stated he had been carjacked at gunpoint, and was grazed by a bullet in the process. The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene by EMS.
Louisville Metro Police spotted the stolen Chevy Trailblazer shortly after responding and engaged the vehicle in a brief pursuit. The car was successfully stopped in the 3200 block of Taylor Boulevard where 31 year-old Montrell Thompson was taken into custody.
Thompson is lodged in the Louisville Department of Corrections and is scheduled to appear in court Monday, April 14 at 9 a.m.
