Two 20-year-old Fort Campbell soldiers were arrested separately for allegedly driving drunk and crashing their vehicles in Oak Grove, Kentucky early Friday morning.
Just after 12:30 a.m., the Oak Grove Police Department said Joel Gallardo, of Virginia, crashed into a home on Stateline Road.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the home and a parked vehicle seriously damaged.
The officers said Joel Gallardo was driving when he lost control and hit the house and the parked vehicle, which was pushed several feet forward. A woman and her 6-year-old child were in the house at the time, but were not harmed, according to the report.
Gallardo was found to be visibly intoxicated at the scene and admitted to officers that he “had a few beers.” A field sobriety test confirmed the officers’ suspicions, and he was arrested and booked on driving under the influence, first-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree wanton endangerment charges.
A little over an hour later, police responded to another crash involving a Fort Campbell soldier.
Oak Grove Police Department said 20-year-old Noah Glass drove through a flooded street and into a ditch on Shadow Ridge Avenue.
Glass was charged with driving under the influence and possession of an alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle.
