A 16-year-old is facing charges after shooting himself last Wednesday morning, according to Bowling Green Police.
Officers responded to the shooting at Skyline Village Mobile Home Park on Loop Drive around 6:45 a.m. on April 16.
When police arrived, they found the teen had been hurt but later learned he shot himself and didn’t tell the truth right away about what happened.
He was treated for his injuries at a local hospital and released within hours of the incident.
As a result of the investigation, the juvenile has been charged with tampering with physical evidence, possession of a handgun by a minor, and falsely reporting an incident.
Police do not release the names of juveniles charges in criminal cases.
The case remains under investigation.
