A proactive patrol by Christian County Sheriff’s deputies led to the arrest of a Hopkinsville woman on multiple drug and forgery charges.
On April 23, on the 100 block of Carter Road, deputies made contact with a parked vehicle occupied by 44-year-old Shauna Haas at 8:30 p.m.
During the interaction, the deputy detected the smell of marijuana. Further investigation revealed Haas had a non-extraditable warrant out of Iowa.
A search of the vehicle uncovered suspected narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a checkbook containing several altered checks made out to Haas. Items found included gabapentin, clonidine hydrochloride, suspected methamphetamine residue, and marijuana.
She was taken into custody and charged with:
Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree
Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Forgery, 1st Degree
Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, 2nd Degree
Unlawful Access to a Computer, 4th Degree
Haas was lodged in the Christian County Jail under a $10,000 bond.
