An incident in the Camp Taylor neighborhood Saturday night left one man shot in the arm by a Louisville police officer.
Louisville Metro Police Department said officers were called to the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue around 10:30 p.m. on April 26 on the report of an argumentative and intoxicated man who had fired a shot into the floor.
Police said when officers arrived, they found a distraught man with a gun to his head in the driveway. Police worked to get people who were still inside the house and on the phone with 911 out, but one person remained inside.
Police said the man went back into the home, and an officer told him to drop the gun. The officer then fired one shot that hit the man in the arm.
The man was taken to UofL Hospital where police said he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
LMPD’s Public Integrity Unit is investigating.
Body-camera footage of the incident will be released within 10 business days per the department’s policy. The names of the officer or the man who was shot have not been released.
