
Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle collision in Nelson County Tuesday evening, April 23, that resulted in a fatality.
The preliminary investigation revealed that 26 year-old Jonathan Hood, of Lawrenceburg, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado eastbound on KY-509 when, for unknown reasons, he crossed the center line and into the path of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado operated by a 17-year-old juvenile.
Both Hood and the juvenile driver were transported to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. A passenger in the juvenile’s vehicle, 18 year-old McKinzi Raisor, of Bardstown, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner’s Office.
Through the course of Kentucky State Police’s investigation, Jonathan Hood has been charged with vehicular homicide, wanton endangerment, driving under the influence 2nd and open alcoholic container.
Hood was lodged in the Nelson County Correctional Center under a $250,000 cash bond on Monday (04/28). He is scheduled to appear in court on May 6.
The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
