One person is dead after a fatal collision at 11830 Nashville Road in Bowling Green Tuesday evening.
According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office, witnesses said they had seen a man who had left the Dollar General and walked out into the roadway of the northbound lane of 31W around 6 p.m.
Vehicles swerved to miss him as he walked directly into the traveled portion of the roadway. One vehicle was unable to stop before striking the man.
Several witnesses stopped and performed life-saving measures until first responders arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital by Bowling Green EMS but later succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was later identified as 57 year-old Paul Horacio Caputto from Jeffersonville, Indiana.
The sheriff’s office was assisted on the scene by Woodburn Volunteer Fire and Bowling Green EMS.
