
An early Saturday morning shooting in the Parkland neighborhood has left two people dead and a third wounded.
Around 2:10 a.m., MetroSafe received 911 calls about a shooting in the parking lot of the Kroger at 28th Street and West Broadway. Louisville Metro police officers found two people, a man and a woman, with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to UofL Hospital but died from their injuries.
LMPD learned that a third person, who was brought to UofL Hospital in a private vehicle, had also been wounded by the gunfire. That person is expected to survive.
The shooting is under investigation by the LMPD Homicide Unit. Police say there was a large crowd in the area at the time, but they do not have any suspects. Investigators are looking for any surveillance video of the area or person who may have cell phone video.
