A patient at Jewish Hospital was arrested Friday after police say he got into a fight with security guards there.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. on May 9 at the hospital located in downtown Louisville. Louisville Metro Police Department said when officers arrived, they found 50-year-old Vincent Armstrong handcuffed to a wheelchair and was surrounded by security guards.
Officers said every computer was knocked to the floor during the altercation. A nurse told police that Armstrong pushed her and scratched her arm as she was checking on him. He then went to the nurses table and knocked down all the computer monitors and was enraged.
State nursing leaders have warned that their peers are vulnerable. The Kentucky Nurse Association reports one in five healthcare workers is assaulted. A nurse at Jewish Hospital was stabbed less than a month ago.
Armstrong is facing several charges, including assault.
