
A man is being accused of intentionally driving into a crowd of people and injuring a woman in Hopkinsville Friday night, according to the Hopkinsville Police Department.
Hopkinsville Police Department said 46 year-old Mark Ware was driving down East 18th Street at around 11:30 p.m. when he intentionally drove his vehicle into a crowd of people.
A woman, identified as Willie Haskins, was hit by the vehicle and trapped underneath it.
Ware allegedly tried to leave the scene multiple times, but was stopped by witnesses, according to police.
Police said Haskins was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment, but she is considered to be in stable condition.
Ware was arrested and is facing multiple charges, including:
DUI
First-degree assault
Four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment
No registration plates
Leaving the scene of an accident
Three counts of first-degree criminal mischief
Failure of the owner to maintain insurance.
He was lodged in the Christian County Jail under a $51,000 cash bond.
The incident remains under investigation.
