A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a series of armed robberies at local businesses in Louisville, according to court documents.
Henry Martinez was arrested Tuesday in connection with three robberies that started in April of 2024 at businesses throughout Jefferson County.
According to police, Martinez took cash from a business on Kenwood Drive in April 2024. Police said Martinez and another suspect went into the store with handguns and their faces covered. They took cash from the money drawer as well as personal items from employees and a customer.
Police said Martinez told the victims not to call police for 12 minutes or they would be killed. The suspects then tore up the business before fleeing the scene.
Last September, police said Martinez and another suspect robbed a grocery store in the 2900 block of South 4th Street. They were both armed with handguns. Employees were told to zip-tie their hands and then were forced into a small room. According to police, a shopper walked into the store and was forced to give over his wallet.
On January 14, 2025, Martinez and the other suspect went into a business in the 1900 block of Brownsboro Road and demanded money and personal items. The suspects were armed with handguns. Martinez then pepper sprayed the victims in the face.
According to investigators, all of the incidents were captured on video surveillance, and police were able to obtain Martinez’s identity as a possible suspect.
