
Louisville police investigating the circumstances of a man’s death following a car crash in the California neighborhood.
Second Division officers responded to calls of a crash near the intersection of 22nd and Howard Street around 8:15 a.m. Saturday.
In their preliminary investigation, Louisville Metro Police Department said a man driving eastbound on Howard Street lost control of his vehicle, hitting a utility pole at 22nd Street. The vehicle continued a short distance and then struck a fence.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Louisville Metro Police Department said they do not believe the crash was the cause of the man’s death.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Homicide Unit is taking over the investigation.
