
A man is facing attempted murder and arson charges after a reported shooting in Barren County.
On Tuesday, Glasgow police responded to McGraw Avenue in reference to a person that had been shot, according to Major Terry Flatt.
Upon arrival, officers say they located a female victim with gunshot wounds to the head and arm. The suspect, identified as 58-year-old Shane Reece of Glasgow, remained inside the residence for a short time before allegedly setting fire to the bedroom area.
The female victim was transported to T.J. Samson Hospital for her injuries before being transported to the University of Louisville Hospital.
Reece was arrested and charged with the following:
Murder – domestic violence (attempt)
First-degree arson
First-degree wanton endangerment (two counts)
Torture of a dog or cat
He was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center under a $750,000 cash bond.
The Glasgow police was assisted by the Barren County Sheriff Department, Glasgow Fire Department and Barren/Metcalfe EMS.
