A 40-year-old Louisville woman was arrested after she allegedly hit a person riding a scooter on Hurstbourne Parkway, according to court documents.
Jeffersontown police said a crash involving a vehicle and a scooter happened near South Hurstbourne Parkway at 11:27 p.m. Tuesday. That is where police said Erica Parker hit the scooter. The rider was knocked off the scooter and left unconscious before being taken to the hospital.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, the rider of the scooter died at the hospital Wednesday afternoon. He was identified as 38 year-old Donell Johnson.
Investigators said Parker told police she had one beer about three hours earlier, but was unsteady on her feet and smelled of alcohol. After conducting a field sobriety test, Parker was arrested. She is charged with assault and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Parker pleaded not guilty in arraignment court Wednesday morning and her bond was set at $35,000 cash. She remains at Metro Corrections and is scheduled to appear in court next Thursday, May 29.
