One person was airlifted to a hospital following a boating accident earlier Saturday at Walnut Creek Marina in Scottsville.
According to Gary Petty with the Allen County Emergency Management Agency, the incident involved individuals attempting to launch a pontoon boat.
While on the ramp, the vehicle began to slide and the occupants were unable to stop it. The sliding vehicle then pulled the owner’s vehicle backward into the water.
Petty stated that both individuals involved were able to exit the vehicle. However, one female sustained injuries and was air-lifted for medical treatment. The other individual did not sustain any injuries.
The severity of the injuries sustained is unknown.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Scottsville Allen County Volunteer Fire Department, the Allen County EMA, the Scottsville Allen County Rescue Squad and the Glasgow Barren County Dive Team.
The investigation is ongoing.
