Authorities have identified a man shot and killed by an off-duty Jeffersontown police officer Tuesday.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner, 43-year-old Marco Dorsey was shot in the 10000 block of Robsion Road, near Chambers Way and Billtown Road.
Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders said during a news briefing Tuesday afternoon, several calls came in around 11:25 a.m. about a man knocking out windows and acting strangely.
An off-duty officer was in the area and responded to the scene and confronted Dorsey. At least one shot was fired, killing Dorsey. The off-duty officer, who was not injured, then called for backup.
Sanders said during the briefing he didn’t know if Dorsey had a weapon.
The Kentucky State Police Critical Incident Response Team is still investigating.
