
A man is facing charges after the Hopkinsville Police Department said he burglarized hemp-based products at stores in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Hopkinsville Police Department began investigating when officers responded to a burglary at Green Tree Botanical Dispensary just before 4 a.m. on May 24.
Surveillance video from the store showed the suspect, later identified as 26 year-old Nicholas McNeal, using a rock to enter the business before stealing multiple hemp-based products, according to Hopkinsville Police Department.
Similar incidents in Clarksville, Tennessee, were also being investigated, so Hopkinsville Police Department began working with the Clarksville Police Department.
Together, the agencies identified McNeal as the suspect in the incident.
A search warrant was executed on McNeal’s Oak Grove home on Friday (05/30). There, officers recovered stolen products from stores in Clarksville and Hopkinsville.
Hopkinsville Police Department said they also located the clothing he was seen wearing in the surveillance videos.
McNeal was charged with third-degree burglary. Hopkinsville Police Department said Clarksville Police Department also has three active warrants against McNeal.
McNeal is being held in the Christian County Detention Center under a $5,000 cash bond.
