Multiple arrests were made after a fight broke out in a large crowd in the Highlands Sunday morning.
It happened around 2 a.m. on June 1 on Bardstown Road near Grinstead Drive. When police arrived, they say there was a large crowd of hundreds of people. Louisville Metro Police arrested 22-year-old Antayvia Brown and 21-year-old Jakaya Snyzer. The arrest report states they were fighting people in the crowd. They are both charged with disorderly conduct, but Brown carries the additional charge of trespassing.
There was also a 16-year-old charged in connection to the incident.
This all comes as the Fifth Division began a new enforcement strategy on Friday night, but many are left wondering what else can be done.
During a Monday afternoon press conference, Mayor Craig Greenberg addressed the issue on Bardstown Road. He said “everything”, including adjusting bar closing times, is on the table.
Greenberg also said he plans on talking with businesses in the area to address their concerns and his plans to reduce violence moving forward.
