Developers for the proposed data center in Oldham County have announced they are moving the proposed location away from Highway 53.
Neighbors had been concerned about the size and health impacts.
Developers with Western Hospitality Partners now say after listening to feedback, they plan to move the data center to D.W. Griffith Lane close to the Sauerbeck Family Drive-in. The outdoor movie drive-in is expected to relocate.
Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele said by working together, they have been able to create a solution that benefits the county while addressing many concerns that were raised and with this data center as a part of the community, they will have the opportunity to diversify their tax base while creating significant new revenue for Oldham County.
Developers say the data center will also have an electric power substation along with upgrades to protect against fires and air cooling systems to prevent servers from overheating.
