It was an emotional day in a Nelson County courtroom where former students faced the man who is charged with sexual abuse and harassment.
Jeremy Dale, a former Bardstown City Schools employee, was arrested in 2023.
He was facing two counts of sexual abuse and four counts of harassment. Dale and prosecutors struck a deal where his sexual abuse charges were amended down to 5 years of pre-trial diversion.
Starting Wednesday, he will be serving 60 days in the Nelson County jail for the four counts of harassment. He will be allowed work release Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
During the hearing, four victims, now college-aged, gave victim impact statements. Each shared how this abuse affected their senior year of high school and the moments they should have been enjoying.
In addition to his 60 days in jail and pretrial diversion, he isn’t allowed to have contact with the victims or their families. He also has to forfeit his teaching license and is no longer to be in a coaching position, paid or unpaid.
