A woman jumped from a moving vehicle to escape her alleged sexual abuser on Saturday, according to the Hopkinsville Police Department.
Police officers responded to a call on Saturday from a woman who said she was kidnapped and forced to perform sexual acts on the suspect, identified as Deonte Coleman.
The victim alleges that a verbal argument happened between her and Coleman, who was reportedly intoxicated, while they were driving. During the argument, the victim told police Coleman then strangled her until she passed out.
Police said when the victim woke up, Coleman was naked and forced her to “perform sexual acts” while holding a gun to her head.
Coleman reportedly had the victim’s phone and keys, so she jumped from the moving vehicle to escape him.
When officers arrived at the scene, they reportedly saw strangulation marks on the victim’s neck. Police said the victim was having trouble breathing due to her injuries.
Coleman was arrested and has been charged with first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree strangulation, kidnapping-adult, and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property.
Coleman was lodged in the Christian County Jail under a $50,000 cash bond.
