A man has been arrested in connection to a shooting in Fern Creek Thursday night that sent a man to the hospital.
Louisville Metro Police officers responded to a call of a shooting on Thursday, June 12, around 10:20 p.m.
Upon arriving at the 5900 block of Shelby Street, officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to UofL Hospital and is expected to survive.
That man provided detectives with a photo of a suspect and identified him as the man who shot him. Louisville Metro Police later found Eliener Rodriguez Marquez in the 7200 block of Outer Loop.
Rodriquez Marquez turned himself in for the shooting and confessed, saying he shot twice. He is charged with assault and is being held in the Louisville Department of Metro Corrections. He is expected in court Saturday, June 14.
