The Madisonville Police Department says a man is in critical condition after he was assaulted outside of El Bracero in Madisonville.
Officials say the victim was found unresponsive and bleeding from the head when they arrived around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.
They say 61-year-old Darin Dublin, the man identified as the person who assaulted the victim, ran from the scene but was quickly found.
First aid and CPR were given to the victim before they were taken to the hospital.
They say the victim has serious head injuries and is in critical condition.
Authorities say initial reports said a knife was involved in the assault, but they found that to be untrue.
Dublin has been charged with assault in the 1st Degree.
He is being held in the Hopkins County Jail under a $100,000 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20.
