A man facing murder charges after a bar fight turned deadly Sunday morning was in court Monday morning.
Louisville Police responded to a call of a fight at Corner Tavern on Mount Washington Road around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, June 22. A man who was injured in the altercation was taken to UofL Hospital where he later died.
Louisville Metro Police arrested 29 year-old Christopher Foley around 11 p.m. Sunday and he appeared before a judge Monday and plead not guilty.
According to the arrest citation, witnesses said Foley and the other man were outside the bar and Foley hit him multiple times, saying he owed him money.
The report goes on to say video nearby showed Foley throw the victim, Douglas Holliger, to the ground. Holliger was taken to the hospital and died late Sunday afternoon
The owner of that bar says she didn’t know either of the people involved, but felt terribly about the situation.
The judge issued him a $250,000 bond, plus home incarceration if he posted that bond. The judge also issued a no-contact order for the man’s family and Corner Tavern.
Foley will be back in court July 1.
